Rising up from the coastal area of the Algarve to the north of Faro is a range of hills, which extend westward to the Serras de Monchique and Espinhaco. These hills are home to old regional towns such as Loule and Silves and to numerous villages nestling on the hillsides and affording tremendous views across the plain and to the Atlantic ocean.

Centuries ago, Silves was the Capital of the Algarve; now it is a pleasant country town dominated by it Moorish castle and easily reached as part of a day’s touring in the region. Loule, on the other hand, is a thriving market town and regional produce centre. The bustling Saturday market combines fresh and colourful produce with, clothing, arts and crafts, especially ceramics and copper wares, and tourist souvenirs.

We have a number of superb retnal villas and houses close to villages such as Santa Barbara de Nexe, Goldra, Corotelo and Sao Bras de Alportal, another town with a popular Saturday market. Each of these villas enjoys magnificent views from their terraces, yet they are only a few kilometres from the coastal tourist areas of Quinta do Lago, Vale do Lobo, Vilamoura, etc. with their facilities such as golf and beautiful beaches.
